Exercise, low carb meals and snacks, and fluids (water mostly) are the best way to keep your bgs low when you are on no meds. Cortisone shots effect people differently, for instance in me they don't bother my bgs at all...for a lot of others, they do act just as ingested steroids do and keep numbers high for a long time.
Just keep on top of checking your bgs and eat and exercise accordingly.
