| | | Whooooohooooo! Got my results back today on my second A1c..and I am at 6.1 now, after an 11.5 initially just three months ago! Since diagnosis, alot has changed here..and I am completely proud of the work I've done!
I have already been taken off the glucotrol as of a month ago, because I started experiencing a lot of lows and my BS's were really doing well. Now I have not had a fasting over 120 in several weeks...and I run normal all day. My after meal spikes come down quickly.
Doc says that whatever I'm doing..is working, and I intend to maintain fervently and remember that I am doing well now, because I have done well with my lifestyle changes. I have lost almost 60 lbs, and have alot more energy than I've had in a long time. I feel better than I have in several years. So even though I am a new diabetic...I feel I can offer hope to other newly diagnosed diabetics when I say..take it seriously from jump street and make those changes..and three months from now..you can be this happy about your hard work!!!

| | | That's a dramatic drop in a short time...you must be doing everything right! Best wishes on continued good numbers...but remember not to get discouraged if they go up and down a bit now that you're settling in a good range! |

| | | Thanks so much for all your kudos. I feel so great about it, and I have in fact worked very hard to do the right thing. So I guess if nothing else, in my case, I'm proof doing the right thing does work! And even in the beginning stages of a diagnosis - big changes can take place quickly.
I want to show appreciation for all of you too! I have learned so much of what I've taken on and changed for myself by reading all the great info and experiences here...and all of you have been a great source of comfort and education for me. Even when I don't talk much...I read almost everyday. I can't stress enough that dedication to yourself and taking this disease seriously from the beginning is very important - but trust me when I say..all of you are helping people by being here. And no one here should take it for granted! Thank you!
