| | | Good News Well I had a follow up today with my doctor. My A1C is now a 5.8. It was a 6.4 in April. My thyroid was actually a 1.4. That is the best its ever been. I have a hypothyroid and it was way out of range about 18 months ago. Only glitch in my blood work was my LDL is 119. Its supposed to be under 100. It was 95 in April However...... in April my Triglycerides were were 160 and now they are 60. The doctor told me that people with diabetes have problems with their cholesterol. She is not starting me on medication yet. She wants to see what it is in March. I am not really worried about that right now. I took a diabetes class and a cholesterol class in spring. I have really changed my diet and I have lost 25 lbs this year. Its slow coming off but at least it is coming off. Over all I am pretty darn happy with my blood work. It was nice to see in black and white that hard work was being paid off!

| | | well done!
have you reduced carbs?
i have dropped my a1c from 16.2 down to 5.8. i9 was 16.2 at diagnosis in early July!
most of that is down to exercise and reduced carbs. also my triglycerides and cholesterol are fab (106 and 85 respectively).
maybe you should look at how many carbs you eat? i think i am eating about 40-70 grams a day!
hope that helps.

| | | Thanks everyone! You sure know how to make a girl feel good! I appreciate the support. I do not post here often but I could not wait to share the good news. Low Carbing is hard work but seeing the results makes it easier to swallow.....
