Smile Good progress

I was diagnosed nearly 3 weeks ago and have been working on my diet & exercise and it seems to be paying off.

When I was diagnosed my BG was 21 mmol/L, didn't get an A1C, but had blood taken last Tuesday and go the results today. My BG from the bloods was down to 10.6mmol/L, my own test this morning had it down to 8 mmol/L and I have now lost 10 pounds.

The Doctor reckons I have better Cholesterol figures than he has himself, my LDL was 2.4 mmol/L and total Cholesterol was 3.4 mmol/L.

My A1C is 11.6% but I'm not going to let that get me down, it's the first measurement and I know I'm going to get it down.

Sorry for rambling, I'm a happy boy and wanted to share but more importantly I want to say a big THANK YOU for all the support I've had from the great people on DF.

Talking Woo Hoo!

Well I got even happier this weekend, my readings hit 5.9mmol/L yesterday afternoon and were 6.2mmol/L before lunch today

Won't mind my walk in the freezing cold (by Irish standards) tonight.

Thanks guys, I know it can be a roller coaster at times and indeed to celebrate the good times and deal with the bad times head on. Having all the great people in DF to chat with makes a huge difference!

Thank you, all for posts like this. Gives us newbies something to take as a positive in the world of negatives we are starting to face.

Congrats, Dave. Good luck on your next A1C.
