Holiday Success

Before the Christmas/New Year Holidays I had managed to lose 14lbs, here in Ireland (and the UK) this is called a Stone and is always a nice milestone.

With the Christmas season upon me, I decided that if I could at least maintain the loss, I would be happy.

I did not check my weight over the holidays, but last Wed (2nd Jan) was my first day back to work and I decided to check how I did ............... not only had I managed not to gain any weight I had actually lost another 1.5 pounds

This was great as it gave me the motivation to keep on going, I still have a long way to go, no speedo's for me yet , but I'm at least going in the right direction without a hiccup at Christmas.

Thanks Puppypants, but think it was luck more that willpower
I did enjoy holiday food, but guess I was being more careful than I thought. Either way I'm taking the win and running with it!

4 pounds isn't too bad, you'll shift that (if you need to) fairly quickly.

Hey David - great job!

I just checked yesterday and I am back where I started.

We Americans have something else working against us - we have Thanksgiving about a month before Christmas. I'm just hoping that my downward trend will continue now that I'm back on my regular routine.

Cheers,

Mark

It's funny you would say "no speedos" for yourself yet. I told my wife last night, that by Summer of 2009, I want to be able to wear a pair of Speedos, and look good in them. I've never been able to wear them. I am only 15 pounds away from pulling it off.

Keep up the hard work. Losing weight isn't easy, but boy it does feel good.

Regards,

You know, That's is exactly what I was thinking as we Aussies have a ball on Chistmas. But Americans are not satisfied with just Christmas but have Thanks Giving too. OK it's disipline though and though and stick to your guns and lern more about food in what it can do for you.
Anyway, That's a great effort. Keep it going geeat.

Darian,

Well done you! At the moment if I bought $20 speedos at least $10 of them would be where the sun don't shine

Myself and my family are going on holidays with two other families to Italy this summer, my aim is to be able to swim without being completely embarrassed about my size. The people we are going with are so supportive that they are all working to lose some weight too and I have so many offers of walking buddies that it's incredible. The Italians are in for a treat of pasty white Paddies but we'll all be gorgeous by then!
