Does This go with That

I'm feeling quite unwell at the moment & not sure if it's part of D ,
or have I picked up a bug or did I have a bad mushrooms for dinner?

BG was 3.8 after dinner so I tried one of the Fruit & Nut bars
Each 30g bar has 143 cal /597kj Total fat 9.5g Carbs 9.5g
Sugars 7.7g

One hour later, I had the worse giddy spell Ive ever had. The room was spinning & it was really difficult walking towards a chair.
Then nausea followed by a headache.
I waited for the 2hrs to test BG & it was only 4.7

I'm not on meds, just diet & exercise
14 day av BG is 5.8

It could very well been a hypo - the symptoms sound right.

That fruit & nut bar is NOT the right food to treat a low. Juice, regular soda or anything that is low or non-fat. The fat interferes with the sugar uptake.

The numbers you gave are low to low-normal so wouldn't really indicate a hypo but if you were crashing for some reason (heavy exercise?) before the first reading, that bar might not have been a quick enough solution to prevent you dropping much lower short term and causing the symptoms.

Thanks Mike, I had no idea what it was.
I was rather anxious in case it was food poisoning from the mushrooms , so arranged a variety of buckets, towells etc beside the bed for emergencies.
It made me realise I dont have a plan in case of times of illness.
Just now, Ive put the paramedics ph # in my cell phone.
I've had numerous dizzy spells which the doc said was the D, but never had nausea with it before.

Are your numbers normally higher? We find that people who typically run high can experience hypo symptoms and lower than their normal numbers but even much higher than hypo range.

I've never felt nauseous due to a hypo, but we are all different.

I'm tempted to say ' At a market stall ,from a lovely young man that came into town from the commune '

but they were just the regular supermarket type.

It must've been a hypo . I've had giddy turns before but never as extreme as last nights & never been nauseous with them.
I tried to get through the house to the office but the room was spinning really fast. I clung to the walls where possible but when I reached for a chair, I'd miss it & that would fall over on the floor.
Oh well... just another D experience
