27% of T2's in the US are taking insulin.

You're right Lloyd...I actually thought it was about 30% taking insulin...but still, it is a smaller group of people. And the point, which I made poorly, is that those taking insulin (Type 2) tend to be getting excellent care and education...but overall, I still think there Type 2's hear a lot of "old wives tales" vs educated, new info. The whole "sugar" issue is the most visible...whereas the "carb" issue is never discussed in relationship to sugar. The old "eat healthy and exercise" just doesn't provide enough info to the majority of diabetics. Or the public that we have to work and interact with daily.

I think every doctor visit I've had since d-day he or she has asked me how my diet was. I've never been able to give a meaningful, informed answer. "Good"

I am not on Insulin and I am getting excellent care but I had to reach out to the doctor first. Back in 2004 I took a diabetes class I didnt think they went far enough in the training I left the last class not sure where to go from There. I wanted to know if it was getting any better. odes anyone feel they are getting what they expect from the ADA your local diabetes support etc, If not we have come up with ways to change that.
