| | Just got my lab results back... My new A1C is 5.5, the doc should be happy. However, my cholesterol levels haven't budged, so I guessing I'll be put on a statin next time I see him.
I guess this goes to prove that the whole low/reduced carb diet thing really works....I still miss my morning bagel tho.
Jim

| | | Jim,
Congratulations on a wonderful A1c result, that's really great news. Well done, the hard work does pay off. Some day I hope to get a number like yours! You'll get the cholesterol levels down.

| | Woo-Hoo that's a great A1C result. Well done
My total cholesterol was 6.9 so the doc prescribed statins but I have to confess that I've not been taking them

| | | Congrats!
If you are losing weight, it takes a couple months for the cholesterol to catch up with the improved diet and blood sugars.
Have patience. Most people do see lipids decline over time, but not in the first three months.

| | | Good job! Glad to hear about your good numbers.
Let's see: low-carb brownies! Yeah, that's the ticket!
I'm going on a long weekend trip at the end of May. If my numbers are pretty good at that time, I'm taking a vacation from my eating plan, too. I won't pig out, but if it looks good, I'm gonna EAT it!
