Doctor Visit

Today I got my lab report and it was good to know that my A1C stayed the same as before (5.2). I am thinking of making a goal to have my A1C below 5.0 (like normal person). Have anyone achieved an A1C of below 5.0 without going hypo?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am so envious of that A1C - how did you manage that? Well done - awesome in fact!

My guess is that sam is a type 2. I have never been able to achieve an A1c even close to that without significant hypos.

Whatever the circumstances, GREAT A1c sam! My hat is off to you.

Good job Sam! Never been able to get below 5 myself, though I wouldn't think you'd have to go hypo to do so....instead you'd just have to maintain a blood sugar in the 90's most all the time.....wouldn't THAT be awesome!?! Still, you're doing very well and should be proud!

Sam,

Outstanding A1c. I myself struggle to get down below 6, but I think part of my problem is that I am a high glycator. My blood sugar average is generally below 105 mg/dL. I think the key to getting lower is to control variability. If you are really serious about getting lower, you might consider a low or very low carb diet.
