Crohns Disease and Diabetes

Anyone have both? has anyone seen any studies linking the two?

I understand that there is a strong link between type 1 and Crohns... its seems that if you have one auto-immune condition it is quite common to have others.

Why do you ask?

Obesity and Type 2 are strongly associated. Most people assume that Obesity is the cause and Diabetes the effect. It is equally valid to suggest that the underlying metabolic disorder which leads to the Type 2 causes the Obesity.

That's really interesting. I was the first t1 in my family, but a cousin on that side was later diagnosed w/Crohn's. Later her sister's son was diagnosed t1 at 17 months.

On the other side of my family I have a cousin w/Grave's disease, another autoimmune disease. Guess I was fated
