| Hey Max! Glad to see that you are testing often. It really does help you see how foods affect you.
Sure there are people who have blood sugars in the 400's, it doesn't mean that you have "lesser degree" of diabetes than they, just that you are keeping yours under better control. Also, #s that high WILL cause numerous complications. Our goal is to keep our numbers as close to normal as possible to avoid these complications.
While diabetes is a progressive disease, there's no need to run numbers that high, as it progresses, we adjust/change our treatment to continue getting good #s.
As you saw from your evening post Schlotskies meal #s, sometimes it takes certain foods longer than 2 hrs to negatively affect your blood sugars. I find that when I have something in the evenings that are higher in carbs, my morning #s will be higher as well the next morning.
Sounds like you're making some good changes....its a learning experience and we all continually adjust what we do based on our results. Keep up the good work!
