Hi everyone
As you have possibly read on this forum, I am newly diagnosed Type2. About 2 years ago, I was told by a neuroligist that I was probably pre-parkinson's. These symptoms were resting tremor, some cogwheeling, and mental word swapping ( drives my wife crazy).. He kind of went into a wait an see mode after deciding it was not an essential tremor. Early on and at the same time my fasting BG was in the 120's. Is there any possiblilty that these 2 are related. He has me taking clonazepam and Mirapex. The mirapex made me tired, so I took myself off of it. I still get the tremor now and then, mostly when I am stressed. The reason I ask is, last night my BG was 211 and I was word swapping quite a bit and trembling more that tremoring.. Has anyone had these type of problems with Type 2?

I do have problems with word swapping also with numbers transposing and adding or subtracting zeros. I have been diagnosed as slightly dislexic. It is worse when my #s are up. Hope this helps

Don't know what the relationship is but when my sugar is high (> 200), I get mentally tired. To me is seems as if I'm slower and, for instance, cannot remember names as well or quickly and I cannot rise to the challenge of the really hard sudoku puzzles. It's one of the ways I know to test and get ready for more insulin!

Glucose is the main fuel for your brain. I've learned that low glucose can cause reduced mental performance. So far I have not heard that high blood glucose could cause any impairment but I would say they are 'related' so hmm. Maybe.
