My most often exercise is walking especially now that the roses are in bloom. I count how many varieties I see in a day! I try to do 3 20 minute walks a day. Most days one or those is increased to 30 min. Since I use a walker it limits me from the mountain trails I used to hike. Would love to get back out there! Still look for wildflowers as I walk. Yes, in town most folks call them weeds but I say wildflowers!

Next is seated aerobics really works out the upper body. I also spend time in the pool doing water aerobics and swiming. I am fornutae to have an indoor heated pool in the senior complex where I live so it is available all year round.

I'm enjoying your replies. You guys have such good humor. The Prairie Path near Chicago sounds wonderful. Wish I had something akin right outside my door!

Janlaton, can you recognize all those rose varieties you see? If so, you must really know your roses and I would like to send you a private message about a rose or two.

It's soggy wet so no gardening here for the last couple days. I'm inspired by this thread and am going to put on my winter coat, grab my umbrella and go for a walk as soon as I submit this message.

the last time I went swimming, a whaling boat harpooned me. Was a very very sad day

But i concur about the swimming, probably the best excerise you can do for your entire body.

I know what you mean. The last time I went to the stadium to watch a football game, Goodyear asked me if they could rent me to fly over the stadium. I said no, but I'd keep them in mind.

Try horse back riding in the caribbean it will give you a whole new prospective on horses. I went horse backing riding on the beaches of Cancun and through the wilderness of Roatan. Up until the twins were born my wife and I a have been horse back riding just about every place we been to on vacation. They are the best chiropractors in the world. An hour on a horse and my back feels great for weeks. In Cancun We were allowed to take the horses up to a full gallop as well as ride them into the Ocean nothing like it.

Oh, I forgot the Appalachain Trail is near by. I have walked portions of it in the past and used to say I would walk it from north to south when I retired. Wonder if my Winnie Walked and I could manage that? I sort of doubt my kids would let me start.
