| I came home from the doctor's office... ...with a foot injury!
Geeze Louise! I arrived early for my appointment and did not care for the idea of sitting in the waiting room with all chairs aimed at TV tuned to a news station. It has been raining and raining and difficult to get my walks in between rains. The office is in a large medical center adjoined to a hospital and two other buildings. So, I decided to walk the hallways until time for the appointment. Got in a thirty minute walk.
My dress shoes were a bit uncomfortable, which I didn't previously know because normally I don't walk that much in them. Doctor even inspected my feet as part of the appointment, but evidently a flap of raw skin had not lifted by that point, so neither he nor I saw any damage then. But leaving his office, walking back down the hall to the parking garage, I could tell I'd incurred a boo-boo.
Darn it! I try to be careful about my feet. I converted from a lifetime of being barefoot at every opportunity. But not until I got diabetes did I start doing stupid things to my feet. Oh, I haven't told you about the time I sliced the top of my foot with a dirty shovel, right through a leather shoe? How about the grease burn in a bout the same spot as today's friction wound? The foot inversion injury that had me on crutches for 6 weeks? The bee stings? The glass splinter I could not get out myself?
Oh well, it is all the more motivation to keep the BGs down, yes? |
