diabetic toe

Has anybody here had amputation for a diabetic toe? I would appreciate hearing about that - the operation, post operative, etc.

Thanks, Pat

Hi Pat, welcome to the forums. Sorry I can't answer your question about amputation. My mom lost a toe many years ago, so i'm sure everything would be different now as far as recovery, meds, therapy, etc.

How long have you had diabetes? Are you definitely having an amputation or are you worried because of a non-healing sore?

Bless your heart, I'm sure you're very anxious.

Hi Pat, Welcome to Diabetes Forums. I also have not had issues with amputation. I did have foot surgery last year (on both feet) for an osteotomy and bunionectomy. I recovered very well without problems.

Good luck! Check in often and let us know how you are.
