| | | You can be naughty (at times)and still win! Hi guys..
Just wanted to share a small sucess.I had my doctors visit yesterday and have dropped 6 more lbs in 2 weeks! I am thrilled. I really was not expecting this, as these last two weeks I have not been sticking so strictly to my diet. Not that I went crazy but twice I indulged; once on a small 4 cheese pizza and once on ice cream.
I have come to this conclusion. On the weeks when I almost "overdo" my diet i.e eat very strictly, I sometimes lose alot but sometimes stay the same. But if I do allow myself to "indulge" on a small scale, I have found that I lose more.
This brings me to the conclusion that these little treats actually remind the body that I am not starving and therefor aid my metabolism into burning up these treats. It certainly works for me anyway. I was talking to my doctor about this and she said that it is a great way to feel that you are not being a martyr all the time, but always have a treat to look foward to.
Also I found that even when I had eaten these less than healthy foods, my BG's went straight back to relatively normal after 2 hours post-prandial.
So here's to indulging...and losing weight
By the way...my reward for this weight loss was....shoes! |

| | | Yeah, I've definitely found that the occasional small treat helps the body stay in "weight loss" mode.
Here's to treats and losing weight! Good job, Lulika!

I have given up everything else I have to keep something for me. I always exercise after Pizza so the impact is manageable. My wife and I use positive reinforcement for our twins why shouldn't we all use it.

| | | Lulika,
Well done on the weight loss. I think you are right to give yourself a treat everynow and then, and yes I would agree that the odd indulgence will help kick start you metabolism. I have done this in the past and it does seem to help.
Well done!

Now you know you can do it and how it's done. Just think, once you get to your target weight you'll only need to maintain which should be easier than losing it in the first place.
I wouldn't call it being naughty exactly, just a pause in the routine.
Eyes on the prize Lulika - keep up the good work!
