Patting myself on the back

Saw the endo yesterday. My 3 month am bgs were low enough he cut me from 8to 4 mgs avandia!

That is certainly good news. The fewer drugs the better (but never less than you need )

T2, diagnosed 8/31/06.
Byetta 5 mcg
HCTZ 12.5 mg every other day for BP
Enalapril 20 mg 1 daily (ace-inhibitor)
Lower carb dieter (approx. 75 total carbs/day, more on weekends), taking chromium, multivitamin and fish oil tablets


Initial A1C 8/06: 9.6
11/06: 6.2.
03/07: 5.3
06/07: 5.4
10/07: 5.3
05/08: 6.2 (right after dealing with shingles and bronchitis)

Yeah, that is one that makes it hard to loose weight and keeps fluid on the body. Doc said I should loose about 10 pounds in the first week of reduced med. Also said wished he had my BP 110/70!

That is fantastic! Oh, I hope to be able to cut some of my meds in the near future! Right now I am in a slump so I don't see it happening too soon. Keep up the good work, that is an inspiration to all of us!

Did not realize how much fluid I was retaining. Cut back the Avandia yesterday and have really lost a lot of fluid already. Thanks for the encouraging words.

Janlaton, I'm really curious about the weight loss. Would you let us know in a few days about the percent of body weight you lose, or perhaps the actual weight lost?

sO FAR i AM DOWN 10 #s. Saw the Opthomologist yesterday no retina damage and NO bleeding! Love that report. Also no change in the minute cataracts in a year.
