Some Clarification Of New Diabetes Surgery

All,

I have been following this clincal trial with interest. Someone may have posted a link to this site before but It does provide some interesting information on the different forms of bariatric surgery and the new surgery in clincal trials for non-obese type 2 diabetics.

Diabetes Surgery Clinical Trial

Read the link titled, "The Clinical Trial.........."

Out of curiosity, I contacted the medical center via email and they sent me several bits of information including documentation to get approval for the surgery. I don't think I am going to move forward with the rearrangement of my insides at this time but it is kinda nice to know exactly what is in the works as a possible future option. I am by no means promoting this. I just wanted to let those who were considering any of these surgeries to have some sort of idea of which ones are available.

I have read that in the medical field many have stated that although the surgery for diabetes should be an option, they would like to see studies move in the direction of finding out exactly what mechanisms are being changed through this surgery and finding a less invasive way to achieve the same results.

At the very least, it will provide you with a very interesting read if you like medical writing.

Very, very interesting. Maybe it's because I am a type 1, but I don't see too many studies in curing type 2 diabetes.
