| | | New numbers Just got back from the Doc.
not bad.
A1c went from 6.0 to 6.5
LDL 46
Good stuff 134
Problem is Triglycerides.
Went from 140's to 240's.
Gotta lose some weight. That should take down both the A1C and the Triglycerides.
No more snacks and 3 month return visit.
Better news some scrips went out the window.
Lipitor, flomax, Ambien CR all gone.
All in all not bad

| | | I'm having lipid-envy!!!!! How do you get your HDL so high? Doc said meds wouldn't have much effect on them, so i've been taking fish oil, red wine, exercise...still can't get them over 50.
I know you're glad to be off the other meds. Good job!

| | | High triglycerides is what made the doc determine that I'm diabetic. Mine had jumped over 100 points in 6 months.
I just went in for more blood work. Couldn't see the doctor and had to settle for a nurse practitioner. Got my results back Monday and found out she didn't order the fasting glucose test, so I still don't have an updated A1C.. <grrr...>
At least my other numbers were better..
Total = 137
HDL = 42 (up from the mid 30s)
LDL = 71 (down from 115-117)
Triglycerides = 122 (down from over 300)
Like PrincessLinda asked, How do you get HDL that high? Are you sure those two aren't reversed? |

| | | my doc says I have what's called "Chinese Blood"
As I don't have any family history I can't tell you a thing.
It is what it is.
Now I have to lose 6-10 pounds in 3 months.
