A post which may come in handy for diabetes Mums at risk and baby, a new drug to treat T2 diabetes has been launched in the UK.
Its called Vildagliptin, which comes in tablet form and is taking once or twice a day, is part of a class of drugs called DPP-4(dipeptidyl peptidase-4) inhibitors. DPP-4 inhibitors work by blocking the action of DPP-4, an enzyme that destroys the hormone incretin, and in doing so, allows incretin levels to remain higher for longer.
Incretins are vital because they help the body produce more insulin when it is needed, and reduced the amount of glucose being produce by the liver when it is not needed.
Dream-on fellows no chance!! this is for the girls only.
Hope you girls find the link useful.
