Support groups have always helped me when I was dealing with ingrained habits.

I know you are going through a rough time right now Ricky. I understand the D problems but I also understand the Parkinson's (my grandmother had it for years before her death to pneumonia). Dealing with just one of those diseases is rough, I'm sure dealing with both is harder.
Hang in there and know that you can always come to us talk, vent, rant, whatever. We may not have all of the answers but we do have the support.

Ricky..........don't beat yourself up. ((HUG))
Take each day one at a time. If you have a set back, start over again.

Ricky, hang in there! I can't imagine how difficult it must be to deal with diabetes AND Parkinson's, as I find dealing with diabetes alone to be tough enough. We're all here for you.

I have lots of weight to lose myself, and I find I do better if I don't have a lot of things in the house that I can't eat. Maybe you could get your family to have their treats when you're not around, so you're not tempted. Also, keep some things on hand that you can have for when the munchies hit.

The main thing is NEVER GIVE UP! Each day is a new start. Have one day where you eat only the foods you should eat...get through that one day and try for two...then three, and so on. We all have our moments where we stumble and fall, but we pull ourselves up and go on.

Hope things start looking up for you!

One of the symptoms of D is being very hungry. I have the same problem. It is not you fault. When my BG is close to normal, I am not so hungry. I don't know anything about Parkinsons and I am kind of new to D but have learned that I have to take it one day at a time. Sometimes it ten minutes at a time. If I mess up, I just start over again, and again, and again. Good luck. Keep us posted on your progress.
