On the golf course.

I try to eat low carb but the other day I left late and got to the golf course, had 5 minutes before tee time and I was famished.

I could find nothing to so I had an egg salad on brown. There was nothing low carb.

What would you have done?

A good choice schlep. How was your bg after that?
I keep a mini hamper in my car & bag for such emergencies.
A tiny tin of baked beans & a spoon . Plus small fruit juice for hypo's.
I hope you had a great game

While venturing out on low carb, I carry a zip-lock bag of several ounces of redskin peanuts, good emergency rations. Like the American Express Card, don't leave home without it.

Golf Course I would of found Beer Cart girl, got a Miller Lite 3.2 grams Carbs! Low Carb for me at Golf Course!

Love to play golf, heading out in a moment to play a round today! I always have some Beef Jerkey with me when I play golf, keep a large container of it in my locker at the Club

Egg salad was a good choice. I might have ditched the bread, or at least half of it, but that's based on my knowledge of what bread does to MY BG.

Egg salad was a good choice.
You should keep a snack, such as peanut butter crackers, in your golf bag too!

I think you made a good choice with the Egg salad. I recently started playing golf after 25 years of not playing. Played a competition (charity one for fun) on Friday, first 18 holes in 25+ years, they had a nice touch, between 9th & 10th hole they had a BBQ serving burgers/hotdogs, I got hotdog without bun, they thought I was odd not having the bun so gave me an extra frankfurter .

I keep a carton of orange juice in my bag, with a pack of peanuts. But don't expect to need either as when I exercise my numbers actually rise and don't drop until about 40 minutes after I finish exercising.

I'm also careful to make sure to have a bottle of water with me, especially if its warm.

golf

This is what I have been doing lately as it has been pretty hot. I found just drinking water was not getting it done so I drink water then G2(gatorade lite) its low in carbs and not as heavy as the regular gatorade. I also pack my own sandwich(my cooler has a compartment on top which keeps it cool) and take a couple of apples, and some peanut butter/cheese type crackers. Its been working pretty good as I have a lot more energy rather then wearing out.

I usually drink lots of water and have some peanut butter crackers when I'm out on the course. However, I played in a charity scramble about a month ago. Before the tournament started, they had the burger and hotdog buffet, chips, slaw, etc. I had a burger, but forgave the slaw, chips, and deserts. Then had a few Miller Lites while playing. Got home and checked my numbers figuring I'd wrecked them for the day. Came in at 114. Not too bad for a binge day.

Hopefully I'll get out one day next week. It's been awful hot here with real high humidity. I've never tried the G2, I'll have to look for it.

I can just skip food for a few hours, never causes me any problems. Maybe order up some long fades with a side of flop shots and a hot putter - very low carb.

Or go ahead with the egg salad and just leave the golf cart behind. Very hilly courses 'round here, I can burn off just about anything over 18 holes.

Yup! egg is good choice; we get them at half way huts in Malaysia.

Sometimes when am hungry and feel dizzy an odd banana doesn't hurt my bg when I am playing golf.

Normal bg reading after golf is around 6 mmol with or without banana.
