But really... If people can blow their nose at the table, sounding like an elephant farting, then i really don't get why some people (mostly non-d's) feels it's bad manner to inject insulin at the table. True, insulin STINKS, but in a crowded restaurant it's not that easy to notice, and the injection is very quiet, just some clicking if using a pen... Someone blowing their nose however, will spread germs all over the place because they rarely or never wash their hands afterwards, and often use a handkerchief that looks like it's been used for 10 years without being washed Or they leave the papernapkin for the waiters to deal with

| | I go MDI tomorrow... However, I've never been one who cares what other people think about me, nor do I let it influence my actions, except to encourage me to magnify the behavior
I fully intend to inject where ever I happen to be when I need the injection...
My wife is a hospital RN... If I noticed someone glaring at me while I was preparing my injection, I just might hand the syringe to my wife, turn and lift my kilt |

Don't see it often, but i think i've seen at least 3 others except diabetic friends since i was diagnosed. In high school there was a T1 in the class over me, and he always took his insulin at the table in the lunch breaks. I had a T1 friend in high school too, and she was not as open about it. She took her lunch insulin outside the cafeteria, and after i found out she was diabetic, i always waited for her outside the cafeteria while she took her insulin, politely looking in another direction I made it through high school without the big D, it caught me the autumn after graduation

| | | I inject & test BS in public. With 60% of America obese, it's good that everyone is aware and sees the possible outcomes. It needs to be public! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
