I was 1st diagnosed and told by phone message that I had Type 2 on April 17th and was prescribed medication to my local pharmacy. My daughter insisted on a meter and I procured one from my dr. the next day.

At the 2month mark my numbers were "terrible" and he called me in to discuss meds.

After reading this forum within 2 weeks of diagnosis I changed my life. Totally low card diet (less than 60 carbs a day) and watched calories. Exercise 30 minutes a day. Lost 31 pounds.
