Hello again

Hi there everyone,

Please excuse my long absence from the forums. I wont go into details to bore you all as to why I havent been here for a while, but thought that I would post this to say hello to all you lovely people!
Since I was last here, I had my first A1C, in June.At diagnosis I was 7.1 and I am now 6.3...I am happy!

I am still losing weight steadily and have now lost a total of 45 pounds and 3 dress sizes. I feel great and have added swimming to my exercise regime, along with the old treadmill walking and weights.
I hope you are all good....I missed you guys!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
It is really Olympic madness here in Beijing today and the Chinese are very excited. The only problem is the really heavy smog, its difficult to imagine even walking, never mind run a race in these conditions!
I am going to the Mens Athletics in the Birds Nest stadium, it will be an experience to remember I hope.
I am doing my best with the diet, exercise and weight loss...but dont think for a moment I havent cheated! Over the summer I was in the UK and I couldnt resist some of the foods that I hadnt had for years...but now its back to the path of common sense!

Love

We missed you too, Lulika. Well done on your drop from 7.1 to 6.3 - I am very envious of that number. Also congrats on your weight loss - you'll have to treat yourself to some new shoes!

Lulika! I've been gone only two weeks at most and I am back tonight for the first time. I had the darnedest time logging on as I could not remember my login and actually got locked out due to too many tries. But finally I made it!

Last night I spent some time looking/reading a site about Beijing street style. Wish I could provide the link here, but now I can't remember how I found it. Oh, well. Some very creative dressers, I must say.

I hear that in addition to excitement about the Olympics, many people are finding all the bother to be pain in the behind and will be happy when it is all over. Plus I hear that worry and sadness for the situation in Sichuan, what with the earthquakes, puts a pallor on many things.

Congratulations on your better health and feeling better. Glad to have you back with us.

Yes SlipperyElm the Olympics is a big pain for those of us who have to live and work here and many cant wait for it to finish!
I know its a huge world event but it has totally disrupted the city, travelling and roads especially.
The earthquake was a tragedy and still leaves a sad atmosphere which is a damper thats true.
I am so happy to see you again!
