BG Log-can you suggest a good one?

The little log that came with my meter is pretty lame. There's only room for 4 readings per line (I'd like 6), making it so you can't just go down the column and compare days. The spaces to write are pretty small and there's only 2 tiny lines at the end of the row to make notes...

I use a computer application called 1-2 Tracker. It costs about $12 but it is worth it to me. Graphs, medication log, exercise log and other good stuff.

Do you know where I could get info about it? Can you print the log page so you could carry it with you to fill it out? Could you possible email me a sample sheet of the log so I could see what it looks like?

Thanks for your help!

I just go into my word processor and make a table with the number of boxes/spaces I want and print it out, one month on a page. I haven't been able to do this month's yet though cuz I'm out of black ink; I really need to go buy some tomorrow....

For mine I use one column each for date, each meal reading and units I take, evening, and one for any additional tests. You could add more for figuring averages and whatnot.

I use an Application I found called GlucoseOne. Its free and fairly simple. You can print out log sheets and manually enter data as well as import from OneTouch data/meters/other database programs. You can even print out physician reports.

Sugar Stats

It's free but you can pay for an upgrade if it doesn't completely fit your needs.

If you prefer to use the 'ol pen and paper:

I just lay out a fresh Kleenex on my desk, lay all of the testing implements on the Kleenex (lancing device, meter, cotton ball), then when I've done the test, I write the results on the Kleenex.

Once I have the computer turned on, I'll transpose the Kleenex info into a Word document. My Word document looks like this:

Sunday 8-17-08:
First morning reading at 9:03am................86
Two hours after eating at 11:15am...........128
Before lunch at 2:31pm............................108
Two hours after lunch at 4:47pm..............142

Monday 8-18-08:
First morning reading at 4am.....................79

As you can see, I make the first morning reading in red so as to be able to see what my fasting levels are more easily.

If you don't have a Kleenex or prefer to write on something more substantial, just use a small notepad to write the numbers on. For example, in the morning you just write FMR for first morning reading or just the word "first", then write the reading....say it's 86, then write an @ symbol and write the time. It would look like this:

FMR-86@9:03am or
First-86@9:03am.

Thank you all for your replies. I found a format I like that I can make in excel in a book I was looking at in Barnes & Noble. It has columns for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks, exercize, bg readings, meds taken & notes.

You can use Minimed Carelink. It supports most meters and is free to use even if you don't have a minimed pump.

Sorry Elizabeth. There are no log sheets. I simply fill in the info on my computer each day. My meter logs the numbers and I fill in the rest. I just realized that this application is only for Macintosh computers. I just checked out Sugarstats.com and really liked the interface and amount of info you can enter.
Good luck finding a solution.

I use an Excel spreadsheet, I have a cable for my (contour) meter and the associated software but prefer the process of manually entering my numbers as I feel it re-enforces in my mind how I am doing.
