Smile Finally! Dawn Phenomenon under control!!!

I hesitate to say that my Dawn Phenomenon is "gone", but the last two weeks or so, my fasting blood glucose numbers have been at an all time low - between 100-110 and this morning an all time low of 98!!!

I just hope this keeps up. I'm not sure whether it's because of the addition of regular insulin at mealtimes or because of taking my last metformin pill at bedtime but I'm not complaining!

I've had very good control since adding the regular insulin to my routine. I have seen very few highs (one 322 reading two weeks ago due to my binging on movie theatre popcorn at the movies) and a few lows due to me misjudging the amount of carb on my plate (one 65 a couple days ago and 70 twice yesterday!) but otherwise I'm perfectly fine as long as I count my carbs correctly and continue to stick to a low carb diet.

I have not seen bg numbers this low in many, many years and I'm very pleased to say the least!!!

You know.. I try to tell myself that these are just numbers and I need to know them to decide how to manage my diet, exercise and medications... not something that should have an emotional effect or that I should "judge" myself by... but when I wake up to a fasting BS of 5.5mmol/l (99mg/dl) I can't help but have a smile on my face the rest of the day

Good for you e-Lady
