Hello everybody

I just have a few questions that are on my mind.. I have been type 2 for about 18 months or so.. My current A1C is 5.6 and my fasting sugar is 101-111 which is the highest its been in the morning for a long time, usually 85-95. My question is at night when I test 2 hours after a meal I am in the low 100's.. And in the morning I am at the higher levels "101-111".. Sounds kinda odd becasue my doc says with that type med I should not bottom out and make my liver dump sugar in my body.. Also I take Actos plus med twice daily... Any ideas??? Thanks..

Hi number13va and welcome to Diabetes Forums. I don't have the answer to your question as my treatment is insulin and not Actos. I know that someone here will read your post and have some answers for you.

I just wanted to say "Welcome"

Your medicine being finished in your system is not going to make your liver dump glucose. I'm not sure what med you are talking about, but if it is gone from your system it would not be able to prevent you liver from giving you its normal glucose charge. If you will search on the term "dawn phenomenon" in these forums, you will see discussion of blood glucose (BG, having a tendency to rise in the later period of your sleep time. Some believe that this happens for many people, including non-diabetics. For diabetics, obviously it can be a problem if the rise is too high.

You will see a number of ideas for dealing with higher morning time BGs if you do that search.
