However in doctors defense it does SEEM that when it comes to diabetes they are trained to be more reactive than proactive, treating AFTER you progress into full blown diabetes rather than starting treatment to slow/stall the progression.

| | | I hit 50 last evening. That isn't my low though. I think I hit 42 once but have been in the 40's several times. Almost always in the evening before I eat. |

| | | My lowest I caught When I was first diagnosed, and started testing the lowest I caught was in the high 40's in the morning the 2 days after I worked out. I would work out every other day, and my lowest was not the morning after, but the morning 2 days after I worked out. Couldn't figure that one out. I wasn't on meds yet, as my doc had a wait and see attitude. My highs wern't too bad yet, low to mid 200's. She wanted to see some #'s before she started meds. |

| | I take metformin (500mg 2x a day) and glipizide (5mg in AM, 2.5 in PM). My lowest was 45, and it really scared me. I had taken my metformin and glipizide and all my other meds on an empty stomach. I forgot to eat breakfast and proceeded to work out on my stationary bike for 30 minutes. Then as I was getting ready for work the bathroom started to spin, I started to shake and sweat was pouring off me. I tested and was at 45. Not fun! I won't go there again

| | | Long time ago I hit the low 30's while I was on one of the first generation oral meds. Nothing below about 50 or so lately.

| | | 66 measured (fasting level) when I was on Actoplus Met. Since I've gone to Metformin only I don't recall measuring below low 80's.

| | | 45. But that was years ago. Still scary tho. Was very weak, shaking, etc. Was home, so went to the fridge and drank a large glass of OJ. Actually, I drank it straight from the carton.

| | | A couple of times about an hour before meals I have felt "funny" but the numbers have only been in the low 80s. Maybe that's low for me because I'm still learning about diet. I take Metformin ER 500 mg/daily.

| | | I am type 2, just diagnosed in Feb. 2008. Lowest I have been was 53 when I was on Metformin, was very scary. Doc tried every pill available and nothing worked, stayed between 140 to 290. I have abdominal problems so every pill medication was making me severly ill. They just put me on Humulin N, 8 units 2 times per day, I am now getting readings in the 300's. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
