| | | Just for Type 2's: What is the lowest you have gone? This came up in another thread, and I am wondering for Type 2's what is the lowest you have gone? It's not that I don't love Type 1's (you know I do), but it seems that reactive lows are different from insulin reactions.
Please mention if you were taking medicines or injecting insulin at the time. I am most interested in lows experienced while controlling with just diet and exercise (no medications of any sort being used at the time).

| | | 65. After riding my bike for half an hour (at 7:30 in the evening, an hour after eating, I was at 128; at 8:50, after riding, I was at 65; two hours after that, I was up back up to 92). No meds.

| | | I've hit 72 a couple of times when on 8U Lantus. Both times were right before dinner - aside from sleeping, the longest fast of the day that I have (usually about 6 hrs between lunch and dinner).

| | | I'm on Metformin, lowest I have ever seen is 57 (3.2), it was a rollercoaster day brought on I believe by two slices of wholemeal bread toasted sending me high and then I plumetted. Other than that I have seen 65/66 a few times, normally before dinner after a busy day. I've seen a few T1s mention going low while shopping and I've experienced the low feeling a couple of times while grocery shopping.

| | | 52, while on metformin 500 mg twice daily. I skipped lunch and was out in the hot sun at a craft show all day. Easily taken care of with 3-4 sips of "regular" soda.

| | 3.9 mmol/L. This time, converting it to mg/dL is left as an exercise for the American members

| | | The lowest I have gone is 60, this is with no meds for diabetes. I am totally controling with diet now. I started on insulin and metformin. I now able to do it all by what I eat. I also lost 115 pounds. Doctor says that is probably why lower BS levels. My sugars are going lower than I want now though. Wake up with 70's and 80's. Drop to the 60's if I don't watch it. My last AC1 in October was 4.8

| | I went to 90 once. Also I'm type 2 on just diet right now, and it's not working. I send most of my time above 140. When I eat my blood will sometimes go up into the 200's.

| | | I think my lowest was right around 72.
I just started byetta, so I'll have to keep a closer eye on those low numbers. Never really been a worry in the past... |

| | | Lowest was 86, a couple 88's. Most days I get into the 90's just before the evening meal. I've been in the 200's only a dozen times and that's typically a 1 hour PP. Mostly 2 hr PP's are <140.
I think I'm doing OK with no meds, but I have to keep my eye on the ball huh?

| | | 58, I think. I tested three times for that one. LOL. I'm on Byetta and 2000 mg of Met per day. This was before I went on Byetta, but after I'd been on a long walk on a warm, humid evening. Felt like utter and total crapola for about an hour. I ate a couple of cookies and drank some regular milk, which tends to bring me up slowly without spiking me too high. YMMV.
