| | I'm no doctor, just a guy with a web browser.
I found this: Quote:
Diaphoresis is excessive sweating commonly associated with shock and other medical emergency conditions.
...
Normal physical causes of diaphoresis include physical exertion, menopause, fever, spicy foods, and high environmental heat content. Strong emotions (anger, fear) and remembrance of past trauma can also trigger profuse sweating.
...
Pathological causes
Diaphoresis may be associated with some abnormal conditions, such as hyperthyroidism and shock. If it is accompanied by unexplained weight loss or fever or by palpitations, shortness of breath, or chest discomfort, a physician should be consulted. Diabetics relying on insulin shots or oral medications may have low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which can also cause diaphoresis.

| and no idea if or how it might be related: Quote:
Mononeuropathy is a type of neuropathy that only affects a single nerve.[1] It is diagnostically useful to distinguish them from peripheral neuropathy and autonomic neuropathy because the limitation in scope makes it more likely that the cause is a localized trauma or infection.

| My sister had Bells Palsy which is one form of mononeuropathy which paralyzes one side of the face. She's not diabetic BTW.

Horner's syndrome causes ptosis, meiosis, and anhydrosis all on the same side of the face. (Droopy eyelid, constricted pupil, and lack of sweating). Consultation with a neurologist for your symptom might be appropriate. |
