I'm having one of those days

Sorry I need to vent a little ...

Well looks like today is going to be one of those days

I had a good weekend, graduated from a course, celebrated and numbers stayed good. Yesterday had a good BG day stayed around 4.8-5.0 (86.4-90), even two hours PP. I pushed the boat a little last night and had some plain cookies, but even 2 and 3 hours later I was still fine (no higher than 6.2 - 111).

The I had a bad night sleep, woke at 3.45am with a pain in my lower back, I have found that if I stay in bed for more that about 5-6 hours I get back pain, tossed and turned trying to get comfortable with very broken sleep, our 6 year old came into us at about 5.30am, (he rarely does this) and wanted to sleep with us so I moved to his bed, still not sleeping.

Finally got about 1 more hour of solid sleep a between 7.50 and 8.50, got up, showered and dressed, tested at 9.20am 7.9 (142) WTF!!, tested again 7.2 (129.6), darn! Had a small breakfast with some carbs, I don't normally have breakfast but if I'm high in the morning a few carbs can help. Just tested now 12.18pm and I'm at 6.8 (122.4), drat I thought I'd be back down below 6.1 (110) at this stage.

I am a little stressed with some work stuff, so I'm guessing this is down to stress, poor sleep and the weekend of celebrations. There are times when I just want a day off from diabetes! But guess that's not going to happen.

Ah well, I'll just have to accept this as one of those days and look forward to tomorrow being a new day.

I know it sounds cliche Dave but tomorrow is another day. I'm sure that you will be back in normal ranges tomorrow, if not later today.

These things happen. Try not to beat yourself up over it. You have had some extremely good days. Think about those and just let this bad day slip from your mind.

Thanks Cin, that's exactly how I'm going to deal with it. I'll do the best I can today and look forward to a new day tomorrow.

I really don't have much to complain about as I normally have good numbers. I guess these days serve to remind me why I need to keep on keeping on.
