BG staying over 200?? WHY?

For the past week my bg numbers have been in the 200s. I am not eating anything different.
I take 20 mgs. glipizide daily and 30 units of Lantus.
The only difference is that I have joined a difficult exercise class on Tues. and Thurs. and swim laps on 2 other days each week. This I've been doing for the last month.
I doubt the exercise could be causing this problem though.
What else might it be?

The physical stress of the new class? Meds need to be adjusted? Eating differently?

Keep your eye on it and speak with your doctor if it remains the same.

Thanks for answering Mich!
I just did some reading on exercise and bg levels. It stated that sometimes "excessive" exercise can cause levels to go up for a while.
I'm thinking this may be the case here.
I have not done any type of exercise for quite some time (years). When I started this class a month ago it was SO tough!
I'm getting more used to it now. We have a personal trainer and she pushes us hard.
I'm beginning to feel better, however, I was worried about my bs levels being too high.
This forum has been so helpful over the past year. Also the books that were recommended have been helpful.
Thanks to all of you who have been there for me.
I was just afraid and now I feel much better.
It's got to be the exercise. I'm just going to keep going to class and wait for the numbers to come down.
They will.
