Does anyone else test only in the AM?

96 yesterday, 97 today.

At a recent MD office visit, time before last, he advised me to check bg only in the morning. At the last visit he said only every other day. I was stunned. I mean he gives me basically good advice, exercise more and eat more vegetables. And he seems more concerned about my blood pressure than the bg. So naturally I'm still checking glucose about 3 times a day or whenever I think I need to test. And the same number BP checks. The neurologist he sent me to said the same thing. You don't need to test every day. But I'm so used to testing. Don't know if I can cut back more. It's kind of liberating not to test though.

Woah...is that typical for you, henmy or was it just a bad day? Anyway, (((hug))). Keep pluggin'.

I was 126...high for me. Upset about my cat's dx yesterday...it didn't help my BG at all.

All of you under 100...I am covetous of your numbers.
Thank you for the example you're setting.

Numbers are still stabilizing, but not as low as I'd like:

After supper: 90
Bedtime: 106
Waking: 111

Loved that PP number! Dunno what elevated it - no carb intake. Can I blame it on meter variance? Ah well . . .

Those are good numbers, Granny! Well below that 120 threshold that my endo told me would be good to have. I found that once I got those numbers consistently then they dropped again after a month or two to where mine are at now. Hang in there. You are doing great.

Mine was 6.4 mmol/L this morning! A small victory for me, plus I had 2 pieces of wheat toast and margarine at 2:30 am before I went to sleep. I only shot 16u of Lantus last night as well as the evening dose of two 500mg Metformins at 8:00PM.

I can hardly wait to start using the Humalog that is chilling in the fridge. Maybe I can lower my average (which as been 9.7 in past 7 days, down from 11.9 (first 7 days) since monitoring began on the 22nd of Oct.)

I will have to find some suitable, (read "easy") meals, to really control my diet, then watch out! I have been reviewing the copy of Canada's Diabetes Meals for Good Health, that my pharmasist tossed in with my meter and all the goodies. If I cannot find anything I like, I will eat the book. I wonder what pulp counts for on the carbs and glucose?

I suppose it's going to be the small victories that will ultimately win this war.

Be well and happy!

A comfortably numb,
Dougster
