Daughters Results

OK - Went to Endo appt yesterday for daughters results on bloods etc. Most of you will know that since dx - my daughter (16yrs) was all over the place with BS. She was also dx for PCOS which was confirmed with Ultrasounds. She was tested for Cushings - which came back negative (Praise God). I remember posting a few weeks back that her PP levels went as high as 18 and FBS would hover around the 9 -10 . So, with much trepidation - we both fronted up to Endo and Miraculously her A1C level came back as......5.7

They were that confident about her bloods being stable and with such a good numbers coming back - she was told that if she continued to diet and exercise, keep loosing the weight (she lost 2kgs) she will actually reverse her insulin resistance, her PCOS would also disappear and she would be fertile again.
All systoms of PCOS will disappear but only if she maintains the regime that she is on.

He also stated that in time - probably a year from now ( he issued her with a blood test for a year later) if her BS are stable - and she maintains her A1c under 6% he would take her off her metformin and see if it can be controlled through diet and exercise alone.

So with that they have discharged her from the Young Peoples Diabets Clinic and is now under our GP. Referral letters etc have been sent to our GP outling Care Plan. Needless to say I was esacatic and actually can't Thank the people on this forum and God enough... !

SO TO EVERYONE OUT THERE WHO HAS REALLY ADVISED , SUPPORTED AND PUT HER WITH MY WHINGEING, NAGGING AND CONCERNS A REALLY HUGH THANK-YOU!

So Glad and relieved to hear it, ODAR. I'm sure you're breathing a big sigh of relief.
