    Question Worried

For the past many months I had pretty good control over my blood sugar. If my numbers were high i knew why. But for the past week or two my numbers have been high for no reason. Like now..3 hours after eating my usual breakfast of a 1/2 cup of plain Oatmeal and I'm at 190. The other day I was 220 after skipping lunch I'm also thirsty all the time and peeing alot. Has anyone else had this happen

If this is a meal you usually eat w/o problems and it's suddenly causing problems i'd wonder A) Could you be getting sick?
    B) Has your diabetes progressed to the point where you may need to avoid that particular food or have a medication adjustment? C) Is this a fluke? I'd try it again tomorrow and see if your results are the same...one time does not make a trend.

The frequent urination and thirst is because your #'s are running so high.

abilify can and often does raise blood sugar (and can cause diabetes) so if this keeps up long, you should call your docotr. you'll probably need to change something around.
really they should have told you that, and to monitor and call if there is a problem.

    Abilify Information from Drugs.com

A"bilify may cause you to have high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). Talk to your doctor if you have any signs of hyperglycemia such as increased thirst or urination, excessive hunger, or weakness. If you are diabetic, check your blood sugar levels on a regular basis while you are taking Abilify."

    btw kerstin, pm me anytime.....xoxoxoxoxoxoxo!
