Cozaar and hair loss...

Hi Gang,



Has anyone taken this drug for HB? I have been on this drug for the past 2 weeks after taking Lisinopril and stopped it because of the vicious cough it was giving me. The cough stopped after some mucinex dm and now my hair seems to be falling out.

Someone had recommended "ARB"s to me but never gave me some of the names so I can ask my ENDO when I see him at the end of Feb. Anyone knows of a good HB with little side effects like sans the cough, hair loss and headaches? Thank you.

I have no idea, but I was switched from Lisinopril to Cozaar in November and have been losing hair like crazy - just didn't make a connection. I would actually be relieved if it were related to that so I could be switched to something else that would make my hair thick and luxurious!

I was switched because I developed a significant allergic reaction to lisinopril.

I take Hyzaar, which is Cozaar with an added diuretic. I was started on Cozaar, then my doctor switch me to Hyzaar two weeks later, and it worked much better. I have no problem with my hair falling out, and I've been on Hyzaar for years....maybe ten or more.

Neither the Cozaar or the Hyzaar gave me any problems with my hair falling out. As for price, I don't know if there is any difference in cost, as my co-pay is only $5 for a month's supply for either medication. My insurance pays the rest.
