| take the bull by the horns hi dode..I know how frustrating it can be waiting to get in to specialist. My daughter had to wait over a year to get into a gastroenterologist so that he could give here nexium for her reflux...a year is to long for a child to wait! Or anyone for that matter. I have found that it's best to take charge of your health and keep after the doc's to do their jobs. They are so busy it's no wonder things don't get done. I make it a point to tell me doctor what I'm thinking and what I feel should be done, especially in regards to my diabetes. I was on oral meds and my numbers were just not coming down and my doc was hesitant to put me on insulin. I felt that, that was the best for me and so got my diabetic nurse to push the issue from a proffesional point of view. The result...I'm on lantus once a day and my sugars are great. I'm now regularly in my target range of 3.8 to 5.8. It feels great to be in control and especially to know that I stuck to what I thaught needed to be done. Hopefully, your GP will be able to find another specialist to get you into quicker. Lets us know how it goes. |
