Do you think a simple nose bleed can rasie BG?

all 3 of my readings yesterday came in at under 100, including my 2hr PP dinner at 96. However, at bedtime, I had a nose bleed. When that stopped, I went to sleep. I woke up this morning, about 7am, to another nose bleed, & a FBG of 116 ( higher than normal. ) I think it is my allergies acting up. But do you think that is the cause for the higher than normal FBG?

Previously 50 to 100 carbs now I try to limit it to under 50 per day.

could it just be the stress, though mild , of the nosebleed?

I'm concerned about (another) nose bleed. What's up with that...if I may ask?

I will see my Dr next week & ask her, but I think it is due to sneezing alot & taking allergy pills ( which dry out the nose) I was at the drug store yesterday to pick up some stuff & tested my BP, which was fine. I used to get them alot & the Dr never seemed to think it's a problem. I just hate them due to the nuisance factor.

Since you say you have allergies and use an antihistamine...I'm wondering if you also might use a nasal decongestant as well? Stuffy noses suck...especially when you're trying to go to sleep. Cheap nasal decongestant (Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride) can give you nose bleeds. It says so right on the bottle.

I have no allergies and my BP is normal. I get nose bleeds. Not sure why. We do heat with wood throughout the winter and it may be that the air in the house is ultra dry. Same can happen with AC. Nosebleeds are a darned nuisance! I can identify!

I thought the same. I freak out when I have nose bleeds, it would definitely release adrenaline and increase my BG.

Diet-- staying under 50 grams a day of carbs. Not weighing anything mostly rough estimates

Exercise-- 7 days a week but trying to keep it varied. Raquetball, biking, walking with Rocky and now a little lifting
