Angry sugar issues???

Hello!
I'm new here and just looking for some answers if anyone can help.

for some time i've been feeling quite terriby. I have always questioned having some sort of bloodsugar problem because of the hypoglcemic attacks i have
my mother had insulin resistance which wasn't caught or treated in time which then turned into type 2 diabetes....
she says she recognizes most of the symptoms i complain of i have been trying to research this on the net before i see the endo guy... which is probably not a good idea docs or atleast the ones ive seen hate it when patients look up things on the net...

anyways my symptoms are
hypoglycemic attacks :
sweats, shakes, dizzyness, blurred vision, overactive bladder, palpitations, my whole body trembles....
i get an intense hunger and loss of balance and dizzyness after meals and after a fasting period, i also have shortness of breath,
i find that walking up a flight of stairs or just walking a short distance gives me shortness of breath..... i've noticed as well i have trobles breathing when its humid or even in the shower or cooking with steam
i also get anxious when my sugar is dropping...

i began making notes about everything i was eating and when the attacks were happening i did notice that when i consumed any larger amounts or sugar i would wake up in the middle of the night with severe attacks

it took months and months for me to realize what it was waking me up at night it rarely happens now however i still do have boughts of this in the day time not as severe as the night attacks.....

does anyone suffer from the same sort of thing or have any advice

i am really concerned that this is going to turn into diabetes because the docs aren't taking me seriously and this has been going on for more than a year now
i also am unable to loose anymore weight when i went off of gluten and yeast i lost 18 pounds but i am now at a stand still i have alot more to go and cant excersise because of the shortness of breath

my sugar levels after meals are between 7 and 9. (i just don't think this is normal)

thankyou for listening and for any responses

Thank you all for your responses!
I am from Canada.
well this is the story......
About 2 weeks ago I had an insulin level (random) I don't know the result but it came back "normal".
other than that I have had a few random glucose tests and one fasting all of which have come back normal.
last october I had a GTT done. after 2 hours my sugar was 6.7... I was told this was slightly high for 2 hours post drink.... but noting was done... it has almost been a year and i'm getting worse.... as I mentioned the sugars are getting higher and higher.... the scary thing for me is that I don't eat any sweets at all i'm allergic to yeast and intolerant to flour and wheat so that cuts out most if not all sweets... all i eat is fruit, veggies, meat and rice cakes.....
it has come to the point where the doc is telling me this is in my head and is not really interested in helping me anymore......it has come to the point that the doc is telling me that this is all in my head and is not really interested in helping me any longer.......anyways thanks for listening and for any advice you may have

Danijela

These are also symptoms of an anxiety attack. The fact that doctors seem to think "it's all in your head" could also turn out to be not bad at all: if you do have anxiety attacks, it's way better than having diabetes, trust me, I've had both.

But if you could get hold of a glucometer and test at various times of the day, i.e. before and 2 hours after a meal, etc. you could post your readings here and reassure yourself about them. Everyone here is more than helpful.

Relax, we're here for you. Keep the faith!

anxiety attacks is exactly what the doctor is saying.... however he put me on anti-anxxiety medication for over a year now and this is still going on.....drinking oj of milk stops the attacks thats another reason why i think it is my sugar...... i did buy a machine about 2 weeks ago (i have been checking my sugar for quite some time now as my mom is a type 2 and we have always had a machine in our home)..... i haven't taken my sugar today but yesterday about an hour after lunch my sugar was 7.2.... last night i wasn't feeling good and i was starting to have a headache i checked my sugar was 4.9 i know thats normal however i felt shakey and overall bad .... i drank a glass of milk and i had a few rice crackers with peanut butter 20 mins later my sugar was 7.8..... the headache was gone.....
i just don't think this is normal... last week i had half a glass of apple juice at work within 25 mins i felt weird my sugar was 9.3....
let me know what you think

You'll find some conflicting information on "normal" readings during glucose tolerance tests, but 4.9-9.3 should result in none of the symptoms you have.

So I'd still bet on anxiety. This being no betting matter, go to a doctor who will do more than prescribe medication. Personally, I'd recommend behavioral therapy as a logical, pragmatical approach to what is sometimes a bewildering condition.

I adore this place but I'd refrain (for now) from reading too many posts as this could fuel your imagination with more terrifying options.

But I'm still glad you found this place and your mom should share her experiences with us as well. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I appreciate your responce, opinion and suggestions however i don't agree...
i don't think that sugars in the high 7s 8s and 9s are normal at all especially for someone on the restricted diet i am on....

i will say that my uptight personality when it comes to my health probably adds a strain on the situations but thats about all i will agree to

Danijela,

If you are intolerant to wheat and flour, have you ever been tested for Celiac Sprue disease? There is actually a correlation between Celiac's and type 1 diabetes. It's a simple blood test, and if you do have it, then eating gluten laden products can affect your blood sugars just like a diabetic.

Hi Rikki

i was checked for celiac close to a year ago.... the test was negative....
i was actually already gluten free before i took the test i think that was part of the problem i should have been consuming gluten while taking the test

anyways i have been basically gluten free since then i have major problems with my stomach and digestive system so i wouldn't be supprised if there is some kind of damage from eating things i shouldn't have

Hi, Danijela! Sorry if I sounded insensitive, I didn't mean it. It's probably my uptight personality

I didn't say that 7-9 is normal, just that the symptoms you feel don't correspond to those readings, so you probably should be looking elsewhere for answers.

But keep us posted, and good luck!
