Wearing dresses while on a pump

Hi everyone,

I've had a pump for a little over a year and have never had an issue with clothing until now. I am in a wedding and do not know where to put the pump so it stays put while dancing and is out of the way so no one can see it visible underneath my dress. My dress is an a-line dress with a drop waist and a sash. Please don't suggest putting it in my bra because it does not fit. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah, its a medtronic paradigm pump.

Thanks in advance everyone!

Hi,

There's a pump holder (for want of a better expression) called a "thigh thing" that fits like a garter and holds your pump on the inside of your thigh so it doesn't show. I think some of the pump companies carry it and other diabetes supply online retailers. Good for dancing and photos but... I'm picturing the wedding dinner, you under the table hiking up your skirt to find your pump so you can bolus. I think you'd have to eyeball the carbs and then hit the washroom!

I knew a girl who wore hers in her bra. Not under her breast, but under the part under her armpit. Don't know if that would work. At my wedding, I actually wore mine right up until before the wedding...pumped a little extra, then disconnected for an hour at a time. Checking BGs every hour or so...then reconnected at the reception...think I wore it in my bra under my breast. It is really not too uncomfortable.
