| | | December 1st Well, I am 22 years old. My name is Josh and I just found out that I have Type 2 Diabetes. In a way it is a mixed blessing for me. I am over weight and I feel that changing my eating patterns to help manage my Diabetes will also help me lose weight. Honestly, I am not too sure how to feel about the whole situation. I do know that I need to start exercising and I am waiting to hear back from my doctors on a diabetic nutritionist around my area. Nonetheless, I am slightly scared. I know I will do fine and get through things and that the rewards will far surpass any of my uncertainties. If anyone would like to chat I would love it, I am looking for some help with some of the things I can still eat, things I should stay away from all in all, and maybe some places online that specialize in diabetic-friendly foods! Hope everyone is well.

| | Welcome Josh! Hope you find lots of help here. I think so far you're the youngest t2 here(I think), so you'll have to put up with us old foggies (I'm 32) You'll find that for the most part we're pretty harmles..hehehe...some more than others. On the serious end, you'll find lots of info and info is the best way to deal with this disease. Glad to meet ya and see ya around the forum.

| | Josh, Welcome to the forum. This is a great place for information and support. Diabetes can be a very overwhelming thing. Ask lots of questions, it does get easier as you gain knowledge about this lovely disease
Has your Dr put you on any medication? A nutrionist or CDE will be able to help you with your diet. Once you get your bg under control, you will feel SO MUCH BETTER
Hope you visit often

See you around | Thanks..considering my grandmother is the only other person I know first hand that has diabetes I figured I should try and find some other people I can relate to. Don't get me wrong, I love my grandmother and there is nothing wrong with her its just that she isn't exactly around my age..do you know any websites that sell diabetic friendly things? |

| | Hi Josh: Sorry, ya got hit with Diabetes, but if you get control over it asap, you'll feel much better sooner. However, don't feel bad if it takes awhile, most do not get it under control as fast as they'd like. Be patient and just do your Best. I don't think I'll ever get used to people
under 30 having Type 2. Ask lots of questions and feel free to participate in the other sections. Kick Butt.

then it crept down to 45 and 40, yrs. later, 35 and 30, now it's in the 20's,
teens, age 7 even, I think is the youngest i've heard of. It was an older Adult onset Disease. Type 1, usually only went to age 18, then 24, then 30, now I think the oldest Type 1 is 50 I think. Unheard of in the '60's. This disease
has really morphed. Plus now Type 1.5, etc. Get my drift?
