Does Bitter Melon really work?

6 posts in this topic

I've read about bitter melon lowering blood sugar fast, does anyone have any info on this. I'm not at the insulin level yet and just take metformin 2000, but sometimes my sugar (and I am doing low low carb) goes over 200 - after a meal and the metformin does not seem to work too well.

the research would show that it can have additive effect to insulin and hypoglycemic agents.

As far as when taken in the absence of those? YMMV

There is a thread here on it, you would just have to search for it. There were a lot of positive responses to it. Are you planning on eating it or taking the supplements that contain it ?

It works but you need lotsa of it, make it in soup and drink/eat it 3 times a week, take vitamin tablets everyday.

I would try it if I could find it in a tablet. I'll search for the threat on the subject. (I'm still new to this site, so I feel like I'm fumbling around in the dark)

Thanks!
