Help with exercise.

Hello everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has any tips of being a Type 1 and exercising. I wanna start running but am unsure how to do this and keep my diabetes stable!

If any one could help asap I would be super grateful!!!!

Hey guys!

Just wanted to chat quickly about late night hypos.

One of my BIGGEST fears, and the other night it happened. I woke up the other night weak, shaky, sweaty and disorientated.

Thankfully I managed to deal with my 2.2 hypo!

I was just wondering if any of you guys have any tips etc for ensuring this doesn't happen??

It rarely ever happens but when it does it terrifies me.

I would really appreciate any advice!

Going on a city break.

Hey guys!

I'm so excited, I'm going away with my boyfriend and his family for a long weekend at the end of the month!

Having diabetes has never stopped me going abroad and it shouldn't stop you!

All you need to do is be slightly more organised then others. I always remember to pack enough medicine with me, take a letter from your hospital stating you with be carrying medicine with you in case you are stopped. I always make sure I have medical insurance that will cover my diabetes, make sure the people I travel with are aware of my condition and how to help me if I need them to. If you are going to a non-English speaking country it may be helpful to learn some useful phrases in case you need medical assistance. Also it could help to research where the nearest medical center or hospital is.

All of these things are things I tend to do when I go away but everyone is different, but if you are planning a trip just make sure you keep yourself safe and of course enjoy it!

Speak soon:)

First blog ever!

Hello, my name is Amanda. I'm 20 years old, a Type 1 Diabetic and have been since I was 12.

I've never blogged before so not 100% sure if I'll be any good but thought I'd give it a try and hopefully find some inspirational people and motivational stories.

I hope that by starting this blog I will find a new support network filled with people just like me. I don't know any other diabetic so it can be very lonely and be a bit of a taboo subject and I want to change this.

Hopefully I will get to speak to many of you, swap stories, compare tips and just get to know some new friends.

Have a lovely day guys and hopefully speak to some of you soon.
