Control ?

Recommended Posts

Mrsmavv

Hiya,

I work in security and work long shifts - 14/15 hours at a time on nights. I find it difficult to keep my sugar levels in control, i either go too low or end up with too much sugar. It is difficult to plan meals.

Any ideas?

hi Mrsmavv-you may need to have multiple insulin injections to cover the long term or try short snacks. it is tricky to manage but can be done. Also, the new lantus helps with regular insulin--and the pump would be great for you....It helps control ups and downs and your body gets a regular dose of insulin programmed to your lifestyle and can be changed from day to day--say if you work 5 days and have 12 hours schedules and you are off on the weekend and go camping and rest --then you set the pump to slow down or speed up. It sounds confusing but is really great.

good Luck to you
