Anyone else take Plaquenil?

Recommended Posts

Patient254

I was put on plaquenil because of auto-immune hives. It hasn't really helped, that I can see. Of course, perhaps the hives would have been even worse without it, but I still regularly get hives - like 3 or 4 days a week. My GP here in Pittsburgh said I'd have to see a rheumatologist just like I did in Houston. The Houston rheumatologist was the one who put me on the plaquenil.

Anyone else take this drug?

My mother uses it for RA. She's very careful to be aware of possible vision changes, which is a potential side effect. It has done a very good job in helping to control her RA; however if it is not effective in your treatment, you will likely be advised to discontinue. It's also known to take a while to start working.
