mod i heard yesterday he is finally allowed to eat creamed soup after a week of broth only. he might go home today but i haven't heard anything today.

grocery delivery tomorrow morning. i'm resisting the urge to add chips to my order. i've ordered some gluten free mushroom burgers but there is no nutritional label on the website so i'm hoping they will be ok. i'm out of everything but have so many high carb things i'm not eating. i'm not really  hungry today at least so it's not a huge problem. have been down the last few days and haven't been doing much. not sleeping either and i'm so achy and tired. anyway...

Really having a hard time getting motivated.

@modcarb - These are the tough times.  Hang in there.  You can do it.  At least you are maintaining.  22 pounds in 3 months is fantastic progress! ~ Mike

mod i'm sorry you are having a tough time. i'm having a hard time keeping track of what is happening on here.

306.6 this morning. i can't wait to be under 300. i never in my life thought i would ever be as high as 300 pds but it just happened when i was put on some bad meds.

help me out with this nutritional info. i never in my life thought you could eat popcorn on a low carb diet but i already had some smart pop hiding in the  pantry.

8 popped cups is 30 carb 9 fibre. so i can eat 4 cups of popcorn for only 10.5 net carbs? my meal limit is 12 (sometimes i go a bit over) but 4 cups is a actually reasonable size of a serving. i desperately want some things to eat that are not meat and cheese. this popcorn is low fat bc i dont do high fat-i do eat some fat. mostly pepperoni although i've been getting the turkey one and low fat cheese

That doesn't sound right.

According to MyFitnessPal, 1 cup of air popped popcorn (nothing added) comes in at 6g of carbs, 1g of fiber.  Which would make 8 cups of popcorn come out to about 48g of carbs, 8g of fiber.  4 cups of popped popcorn would be 24g of carbs, 4g of fiber so 20 net carbs if you subtract all of the fiber.

Two cups would give you around 10g net carbs.

I chose generic air popped since

1)  Nothing has been added to affect the numbers

2)  None of the Smart Pop selections gave serving sizes outside of bag, and I've no idea how big or small their bags are.  Unless they use some super modified corn to make their popcorn, the carb counts should be pretty much the same.

This is weird.  According to the Pop Secret website.

Serving Size:  1 Tbsp (29g) unpopped, approx 4 cups popped.

Contains 3 servings per bag

Total carbs - 20g

Dietary Fiber - 2g

Looking at more info on their website, I actually question the validity of their labels.

Another one doesn't give weight but says its 1 serving, makes approximately 5 cups of popcorn and only has 20g of carbs.

Another one says 3 Tbsp (33g) of their kernels makes 5 cups of popped product with 24g carbs, 4g fiber.

There is a lot of odd variation for basically the same product.

But seriously, I really suspect the carb count is higher than it seems.  The information would be more accurate of course if we had weights for everything.  Measuring popped popcorn by volume is an extremely inaccurate method as size and shape of the popped kernel can vary significantly.
