fenugreek for lactation and t1 diabetes

Has anyone tried fenugreek supplements to improve breast milk supply? Im having issues with my supply and fenugreek was suggested to me by the lactation consultant. However, fenugreek seems to screw with blood sugar levels. There is a lot of info on the Web about it but here's one site gave that following stats:

"Type I Diabetes

In a study (1990), ten Type I diabetics were given 100 g/day, fenugreek seeds (powdered, defatted and debittered) with meals, for ten days. Fasting glucose levels decreased by 30%, glucose tolerance improved and sugar excretion dropped by 54%.

In this study, the hypocholesterolemic effect of the defatted portion of the seeds were also demonstrated. As compared to the control group, serum cholesterol, LDL and VLDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels were significantly reduced in the treated group."

With that information above, I fear it will really screw with my basal and my boluses if it delays digestion... and what if I forget to take it for a day? I know I should speak to my endocrinologist but I was wondering if anyone had any first hand experience with it, too.

Thank you in advance for any insight you may have!
