Kilauea - New phase

"New" magma has entered the area resulting in a more fluid and faster moving flow.  Lava breached highway 137 and has reached the ocean.  I have done a couple century rides on that highway.

 

One injury so far.  Apparently lava spattered onto someones

I'm learning not just new words like Laze but that those lava splatters are heavy.

I wrongly assumed that injury wouldve been burn.

 homeowner on Noni Farms Road was on his third-floor balcony when he got hit on the shin with lava spatter, shattering the lower portion of his leg.

“Lava bombs” can weigh as much as a refrigerator and even small pieces of spatter can be lethal, officials said.........."
