Type 1 Vaccine available now? Sort of?

This is very interesting.  I wouldn't exactly call it a cure, or really even a vaccine in the strictest sense... but they did see an increase in insulin production of people with long-standing T1 and a subsequent reduction in A1C's.

Now, honestly, their A1C's weren't all that impressive to me.  They reported a 10% reduction in A1C's.  AFTER the reduction they averaged 6.65.... which I still consider high.  And the study did not specify if the patients were able to reduce or eliminate insulin injections.

The vaccine in question is a commonly available one with no apparent side effects (at least not found in 5 minutes of googling).  My thinking right now is what's the harm in trying?

I'm a type 2, so I'm in a different world, but I agree, why not try it.  Anything that helps and doesn't bring a bunch of extra risks is worth the try .
